I.Family Study’s signature paper published by International Journal of Epidemiology

Following five years of international research, the I.Family Study is delighted to announce the publication of its signature scientific paper in the influential International Journal of Epidemiology (IJE).

The paper, which focuses on the unique scale of the cohort of children involved in the project as well as its key findings, has been published on the IJE website and will appear in print in due course.

This significant paper, entitled ‘Cohort Profile: The transition from childhood to adolescence in European children–how I.Family extends the IDEFICS cohort’, outlines the study’s findings in relation to sleep, diets, physical activity and the built environment, media consumption, metabolic health, and genetic factors.

“We are thrilled to see our signature paper published in such a prestigious journal and I would like to thank everyone involved for all their hard work on this significant paper,” says Professor Wolfgang Ahrens, of the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology and Coordinator of the I.Family Study.

“Now our priority is to share these findings as widely as possible and we invite anyone with a practical, professional or policy interest in children’s health to attend the I.Family Study Final Conference in Brussels on February 9th where we will present our findings in detail with a focus on informing policy.”
